Coon Valley Veterans Memorial Park

Coon Creek

The Veterans Memorial Park consists of 10 acres located in the northern portion of Coon Valley with Coon Creek as its northern boundary. The park contains a paved walking path that is approximately 1 mile in length. The path crosses the creek twice connecting one side of the creek to the other. The path is used extensively by Village residents, people that live in the surrounding areas and by tourists. There are 12 handicap fishing pads located along the walking path. The fishing pads are unique to this area and draw many physically challenged anglers. The Coon Creek is known for its excellent fishing and much of the creek from Chaseburg to Coon Valley and through Timber Coulee has been developed and maintained for fishing. The park also contains a popular swimming hole, however there is no lifeguard on duty so swimming is at your own risk. The park contains a lighted ball field with bleachers and a scoreboard. Four acres of adjacent land was donated to the Village in 2011. This land is bordered on its northern edge by Coon Creek. Much of this donated land is open field with some areas of smaller trees and wet land.
