Understanding Your Water and Sewer Bill Your quarterly water and sewer bill is based on the amount of water used in your household in a three month period. Water usage is measured through a water meter located in your home. Most homes contain a 5/8” meter. On your bill you will notice the following breakdown: Water Usage is billed as follows: First 75,000 gallons 2.50 per 1,000 gallonsNext 150.000 gallons 2.16 per 1,000 gallons Over 225,000 gallons 1.14 per 1,000 gallons Water Base is a flat rate of $23.86 per quarter. Sewer Usage is billed $5.69 per 1,000 gallons of water used. Sewer Base is a flat $17.00 per quarter. A Late/No Meter Read charge of $10.00 will be added to your bill if you have received a meter card and fail to return it before billing occurs. Water Penalty and Sewer Penalty amounts will be added to your bill if it is not paid by the Due Date on your bill. Commercial properties and some residential properties have larger water meters.
